Fall is upon us, but it's still hot!!!
Before the warmer weather completely leaves us, I thought it would be a good idea to fill the fridge with some sweet iced tea.
Nothing more refreshing than a glass of iced tea on a hot summer day!
Ingredients:
(I used a two gallon water jug, but this recipe is very easy to modify. You want 1 tea bag per each cup of water you use. You will want 1 cup of sugar for every 6-7 cups of water, depending on how sweet you like your tea.)
32 Tea Bags (regular Lipton works fine. I used a honey chamomile though.)
5 1/2 Cups Sugar
2 Lemons
1 Apple
1 Peach
Directions:
Boil water and fill your water jug until about 3-4 inches from top. You want to leave some space for when you add your fruit.
Add tea bags and let sit for 20 minutes. (I didn't do this but it's smart to hang the excess string outside the jug and then place the lid on. This will keep the bags from dropping to the bottom and also make it really easy to remove the tea bags.)
Stir in your sugar until completely dissolved.
Slice lemon and add. When adding to water squeeze slightly and then stir.
Cut apple, squeeze slightly when adding and stir.
Cut peach and add, squeeze slightly when adding and stir.
